WHITEWATER RAFTING

Since the gold rush, Sacramento, CA has grown into a cosmopolitan state capital studded with sleek steel and glass towers.  Despite its growth and advancement, Sacramento has stayed true to its roots by maintaining the tree-shaded streets and elegant Victorian homes.

As far as you rafting experience, the American River rafting run is the most popular in all of California. The river rumbles for 21 beautifully unbridled miles through the Sierra foothills and contains over 25 class III-V rapids.  Meatgrinder, Troublemaker, Satan's Cesspool, and Hospital Bar are just a few of the rapids that the rafter must endure.

 

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1

2:00pm – 7:00pm – Check into the hotel in the center of downtown Sacramento and get the weekend started.  Airport transportation is available.

8:00pm – 10:00pm – Off to a fine dining experience inspired by classic American cooking.

10:30pm – 11:30pm – Walk through Old Sacramento and make a stop at Fanny Anne's and check out the 7 levels of entertainment. This is definitely one of those places that is a must see for all the oddities that litter the walls.

Day 2

8:00am – 9:00am After wolfing down on a made-to-order breakfast, the shuttle takes you to the rafting base camp where you meet the guides and learn the basics.

10:00am – 5:00pm – Raft all day on the American River through intense rapids with names like Satan's Pool and Hospital Bar. Stop long enough to enjoy to a buffet-style lunch halfway down the river.

5:00pm – 8:00pm – Settle down for a fireside BBQ feast.

8:00pm – 2:00am – You’re roughing it tonight. Drop your stuff at your tents and catch a ride over to the local watering hole, The Coloma Club, for some stories before it's back to camp for a bonfire.

Day 3

10:00am – 11:00am – Meet the shuttle outside the campgrounds and enjoy a scenic ride back to Sacramento for your chosen methods of departure after a weekend to remember.
